tracie made a 20x8 bungle jungle canvas for her nephew's room. he loves the song "the animals went in two by two" so she used bungle jungle to create an animal themed hanging for his bedroom... hurrah! hurrah! i really wouldn't mind if those pals went in ten by ten. the more the merrier!

we think tracie should sell these on etsy. what do you think? don't you want one for your bedroom?... i mean... for the kids... ?

good morning. 

did you have a good weekend? hope so!

i finally got around to seeing slumdog millionaire ... it is oh so good. it's heart-warming, funny and heart-wrenching all at once.  and the kids in it? oh my gosh... i could not believe how cute they are. . such charming, adorable buddies. 

here are some layouts using our new papers that have some equally charming kids in them. i saw this one on flickr. check out pooi pooi's photostream for other sassafras layouts. anthem is the perfect collection for that big smile :) what a pal!

pearl sent us a link to this layout using bungle jungle and a touch of anthem. she mentioned that sassafras papers are awesome for scrapping old photos. 

debbie from scrap paper scissors scrapbooking in florida emailed us this bungle jungle layout. cute cute cute. . .

weekend project anyone???

Who is going to be scrapbooking this weekend?

Here is an inspirational piece to get your weekend started. Christine has included a tutorial using the new Vintage Yummy Journal tag stickers and Paper Whimsy Blossoms. Thanks Christine ! Look closely at how many layers, buttons, gems, stickers, distressing, stamping, die cut trims, and extra touches she can get on one layout! Impressive! Christine is going to be teaching at Reflections 2009

Layered Flowers 101
A brief tutorial from the "Just Us" layout

 

• Start with a large circle journal sticker for the base of the flower. 
• Hand-cut two large circles from cardstock; Pink & Yellow.
  
• Punch holes from yellow circle as shown using a standard hole punch.
  
• Layer and adhere Pink & Yellow circles to center of journal sticker. 
  
• Add buttons as shown. 
• Hand draw small circles inside punched holes using a souffle gel pen. Fill in drawn circles with Stickles.

 

• Curl petals of pink flower towards you. 
  
• Adhere as shown. 

 

• Add medium and small rhinestones to Pink flower petals as shown.
  
• Curl petals of green flower and adhere to top of Pink flower.

• Add two more flower layers & top off flower with a large fabric brad. Flower is complete!

i spied this layout on celine navarro's blog. while she was attending CHA she taught a class at the scrapbook oasis. i love how she uses paper from life at the pole in a very non-holiday way. she shows how versatile life at the pole can be for all seasons. 

here is a layout from the lovely ally serrato using papers from vintage yummy. 

she is also using our new papers to teach a card making class at pink pineapple scrapbooks . our anthem papers are a perfect way to say thank you!

the design team is on a roll.......

this is absolutely the most exciting part of a new release.....NEW PROJECTS are arriving in my in box!! During CHA a magazine editor was asking me if we envisioned final projects while we were designing. The answer to that is NO WAY, that part is all up to each of YOU. When we are in design mode it is strictly the pattern in front of us. Then we sit back and wait in anxious anticipation to be WOWED by the creative minds that turn product into masterpieces! So kudos to all of you that take it to the next level.

These two came in yesterday from Jen. I have re-opened my email so many times to stare at this first one. I love it so much, if I did dream about paper being turned into layouts this one would be in my dreams,
