DIY headband tutorial from marla:
Today it seems like hair accessories are all the rage. From flower clips to headbands, it's really easy to make your own. I'm going to show you how to make this sweet little floral headband using just a couple of products and a few minutes of your time.
First off you'll need a few things. Some cardstock (or heavy weight paper), a thin headband (practically any style can work), a package of "paper whimsies" and a package of "in-a-stitch" blossoms or "entwined blooms." You'll also need a stapler and glue (I used glue dots).
To get started, cut four circles from the cardstock - mine were 1.5" in diameter.
Staple the circles onto the headband, sandwiching the headband between them. Keep the two circle sandwiches separate from each other because it'll help the headband form nicely to the head when worn.
Arrange and layer the paper whimsies to create two flowers. Use the glue to adhere the layers together. Use one of the more detailed flower (in-a-stitch blossom or entwined bloom) for the top layer. Curl the flower edges to create some dimension.
Glue the two flowers to the circles on the headband.
At this point you can either glue a piece of felt or another circle to the back of the flowers to get protection from the staples (I've never had a problem leaving the staples). That's all there is to it! These are so easy to make that you can coordinate them to any outfit. Have fun!

I've never tried to use these types of headbands for the base and I am so happy you showed me this little tip. I always thought you had to use the plastic or fabric covered, thick headbands, but these elastic ones are so perfect! Thanks for the idea! :)
