Sometimes it's nice to take a break from designing scrapbook pages. I find that working on cards or altered pieces allows me to play with scrapbook materials in a whole different way and keep the creativity flowing. Plus it's fun to be challenged and see what you can do "Off the Page!"
Recently I was inspired by the soft and delicate style of the "Sweetly Smitten" line and made this home decor piece fit for a nursery.
The frame was simply covered with a large sheet of paper, "dainty sketch." Then using papers from the wee bundles (I snuck a couple patterns from Ellie's tale in there with Sweetly Smitten) cut out the elephant and balloon designs. I see birds, alligators and giraffes in my future.
By layering the designs onto a background sheet I was able to create a customized piece of artwork out of some really cute papers.
So take a break from those scrapbook pages (but not too long) and try something else! Your pages will be even better when you go back to them!
OMGoodness!!! The elephants are SO fantastic!!! What a great gift idea! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the sweet comments! Rhonda I've had it for a couple of years just waiting for the perfect project. I'm thinking it was Provo Craft?
