or something like that. if you have ever hung around me for more than 5 minutes you might have caught on to the fact that i am ridiculous about mixing up very well known sayings. there is a long list of things i have said out loud that were just....... not right! here are a few examples of real quotes from yours truly...
"why am i always the pig in the middle?"
"that's my plot in life"
"he was a flaming alcoholic"
i'll end the list there, some are far too humiliating......the first time it came out of my mouth was once too many! why this bit of random info, you might ask? it just made me giggle when i typed the post title... nerds of a feather flock together.... that is a prime example of a phrase i might use in a conversation thinking i am perfectly correct and wonder why the person i am talking to is looking at me slightly confused.... (or laughing).
i know that i am not alone in my "idiom's gone wrong" dilema. have you faced this challenge yourself? i am wondering if i should to revert to my elementary ways and study idiom flashcards so i can keep up with conversations outside of my all day chatter with two toddlers...... HELP!
speaking of remembering, look at this adorable mini book i spotted at the a cherry on top gallery. you should definitely check out laura's gallery! so many cute projects....
ACOT gallery is filled with goodness. megamay caught my eye with the antiqued simplicity feel of this project.... with just a hint of amplify pattern...
and now for a little fly around to a few friends from the flock...
kathleen is a true blue nerdy bird lover. her whimsical mix of embellishments and love of bright color are a fun mix indeed.
tracie (sassafras DT super) captures the innocent joy of a few funny faces just perfectly with bits and pieces from nerdy bird.......
peg (sassafras DT super) is a mini-book wizard. she has a knack for little mini-books featuring LOTS of stickers... a fun and easy to follow style...
