before i show you todays "birthday book inspirations" (jan 27th post) i have to share with you another book i got for my birthday that i can't wait to dig into....
did you see THE MOVIE? i keep referring to it as THE MOVIE because i can't stop talking about it, and everyone in my family knows exactly what i mean when i reference something from THE MOVIE. i missed seeing JULIE and JULIA in theatres, so i'm a little behind you new release buffs. BUT i have seen it and am completely smitten with julia childs and would like to attempt to master at least a few of her recipes. i don't think i'll be de-boning ducks anytime soon, or buying 10 pounds of butter on my next grocery stop, but i am anxious to put on my apron and see what exciting new dishes i can learn from julia.
here are two girls that have mastered the art of sassafras scrapbooking.....
thank you so much martha for helping make a masterpiece of a present.
thank you so much kay for adding your beautiful pages to the book....
i am so grateful for a world where we can share our talents, passions, and ideas thru either a 1960's classic cookbook passed down thru generations or a scrapbooking blog bursting with the talents of so many amazing crafters! i love soaking up the inspiration that comes from our design team and passing it on for your enjoyment as well. hope you are inspired to cook up a creative storm! i am =)
thanks for taking a peek at today's blog.... chat soon.
I missed Julia & Julie at the movies too but just recently saw it on the plane and thought it was a great book. Don't think I will be trying out any of the recipes.
Those layouts are so bright and gorgeous. xx

I LOVE Julia Child! And that is a fab cook book. My mother gave me an old copy, and I used it constantly. Have fun with it. Love all the LOs too. Sassafras always so bright amd fun; it makes me happy.

My fave movie! My DH got me the cookbook for Christmas and it's already dog eared, spilled on and generally abused looking! You will love it! I enjoy just reading her captions in it! Have fun!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's on my Netflix queue! Those are some adorable projects!

Great layouts! I love Julie & Julia. I too want to cook up a storm. Only thing is we're vegetarian. I guess I could do a challenge to see if I could make all of the recipes vegetarian. Hmmm, I might just try that.
