double encore!!!
and last but not least....
christine sent us two beautiful layouts.
christine:
Stickers are a complete necessity for me considering I'm a layer'aholic and detail fanatic. Stickers are the ideal match for just about anything when it comes to scrapbooking. Some of my favorite techniques for using stickers include combining them with flowers (especially Paper Whimsies), using them as accents next to other things (for example: behind patterned transparencies), and lastly, layering them together (One sticker is never enough!). For large size stickers, I typically cut them up and use them as frames. I also like to use them for hosting bits and pieces of information, such as hand journaling and word stickers. I'm crazy about Sassafras's "super size" Journal Tag Stickers and I never use them "as is".
christine:
-It's quite often that small stickers aren't easy to use on 12" x 12" layouts. Who said you have to use them solo? I rarely do, so for this particular layout, I used a small heart shape sticker as an accent behind a bird cage printed transparency. Note how it draws the eye to the bird cage and makes for a "pretty background".
-Flowers call for stickers, especially round stickers :) I combined a "Sweet Treat" round rose sticker with an assortment of "Paper Whimsies" flowers. I used Foam Core Pop Dots behind the sticker to give it some dimension (even though it's a sticker..don't hesitate to think of it as something that lacks stickiness, hence the "pop dots".)
-Frames. Frames. Frames. Large stickers are great for framing just about anything, so why not a photo? I cut a photo to fit within a "Bungle Jungle" Journal Tag Sticker. Note that the photo doesn't cover the entirety of the tag sticker, only the right half. I liked the typography on the left half of the sticker so much, I chose not to cover it!
-Sometimes, stickers need a little extra "oomph". Make stickers come alive by framing them with cardstock. I like the look of combining stickers with dark color cardstock. It gives the sticker a defined border and added depth.

we can't keep up with our design team! we were planning on highlighting a new product this week, but still haven't caught up from all the dynamite projects sent in over the past few weeks. Today's post brings you an encore performance with a few more pieces highlighting paper trims, paper whimsies blossoms, and stickers.
"I usually make embellishments with the journal tags stickers. On this altered book I layered the journal tag on white cardstock and cut it out. I added a sweet treats sticker on top and a spinner from an old board game to make this fun game inspired embellishment. The page tab is another jurnal tag layered with cardstock. To make it extra "fun" I layered the different color monograms."

it's friday the twentieth of march... and the vernal equinox... a day when the earth is neither tilted towards nor away from the sun. that means the length of daylight and nightlight is roughly the same. it also means it's the day an egg will balance on its point. just kidding. :( i used to believe that little egg myth.. but apparently you can balance an egg on its point any day of the year... if you have enough patience to stick with it. like you've stuck with us!!
