i am always looking for new ways to waste inordinate amounts of time. :) ha ha... not true... but sometimes i will stumble across something on the internet that will captivate me for way too long.
lately, i have been addicted to twistori.com. it's billed as the first step in an ongoing social experiment based on twitter. (i have never used twitter, but it's an online service that let's you stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to the question: "what are you doing?" it's like adding tiny blog posts between blog posts.)
twistori pulls twitter entries that contain certain keywords: i love, i hate, i think, i believe, i feel, and i wish. it then anonymously publishes them in a non-stop, auto-updating river. the result is a continuous stream of feelings.
the site twistori is based on is pretty cool too--> wefeelfine.org
leave a comment and let us know how you are feeling. RIGHT NOW.
i WISH i still had diet coke left in my cup.
I am back from a nice long weekend in Moab. Went for a mini camping vacation. The sky was blue, the weather was perfect and sunny. At night, stars as far as the eye could see. I love the desert. =) Makes the soul feel better out there. Got to mountain bike, hike, jump into a cold river with some assistance and my favorite sit around a camp fire at night. I hiked into the Fiery Furnace and had my breath taken away by the beauty of tall rock fins that you had to shimmy down, up and around.
so much fun. I could have stayed for weeks!!! if you ever have the chance, you MUST go!!
this morning i have been stalking blogs and found some great stuff to share. Here is a beautiful layout from Mara-May using the fawnd of you, too collection.

happy Tuesday and happy scrap booking!!
i love small, cute, odd and little things! everyone here knows that a new little pal makes me giggle with delight. i have been known to burst into tears, giggle and fall on the floor when i see new sassafras paper that i love. the designers joke about "the hayley test" for printable paper. i am a true nerd and totally embrace it. =) today i wanted to share a new pal that i recently received. he is sitting on my desk and every time i look at his precious face i just feel great!
he is such a pal!!! soooo cute =)
speaking of cuteness look at this mini book from Leila
how can you not smile at the little treasure?? i need one of my very own!!! =) and this great layout was submitted yesterday by Anthea. I love all the bits and pieces on this. thank you for sharing with us.
i hope the best for your day. if anyone has a little pal you want to send my way i am more than happy to have a look. xoxo hayleypal
when the temperatures cool, like clockwork, i catch a cold. mind over matter, positive thinking and loads of vitamin c don't seem to help. sniff. sniff. snuff. any ideas to fast track my recovery?
i just read that in winter, even pesky cold and flu viruses get to wear a coat that helps them spread safely through the cold air. the coat is checked at the door when the virus enters the respiratory tract. like an M&M, the coating melts inside to do its dirty work. ha ha. of course it does.
i also found some cheery stuff online.
Today I want to say thank you to everyone who comments on our blog and fills our inbox with dreamy sassafras projects. We have so much fun posting your layouts and reading what you have to say!!
Here are some great layouts and cards from our readers. Enjoy!!!!!
keep 'em coming! =)
it's monday and things are looking up. way up.
i love music. i always have. growing up, i sang along to the oldies on the AM dial with my mom. hayley and i went through a brief (maybe not so brief :)) but intense obsession with the new kids on the block. the first mixtape i ever made included the bangles, whitney houston, and tone loc. we choreographed some sweeeet dance moves to eternal flame and knew every word to funky cold medina.
in eighth grade i saved up all my pocket change to make my very first cd purchase. i already had bob dylan and james taylor, but those cd's were gifts and reflected my parent's tastes. even though i shared my parent's enthusiasm for the same music, i was ready to assert myself as a music individual. after some research, i rode my bike to the music store and plunked down my money for if i were a carpenter, a tribute album to the carpenters. it felt risky, but i knew i was getting the best of both worlds. the cd had songs i already knew (by an artist that maybe wasn't junior high "cool") covered by artists nobody knew like sonic youth and american music club (which made it "cool").
that cd is probably the reason why i am a sucker for covers. i like the comfortable familiarity mixed with the sound of something new. i like reinterpretations. just like hairstyles and fashion trends, cover songs bring music back around with new life. i updated the music player with some of my favorites. give them a spin.
leave a comment and let me know what artists started your love of music. i will pick a random winner this weekend for a pal prize.
and i thought i would share some of my favorites. Here are two from DT member Peg using the Hog Heaven and Happy place collections. She used some cute little chip board pals too. =) thanks Peg i love these.
Penny sent in this super cute layout!!! Bubbles and kids make me so happy. So sweet!!
